Prenatal and Postpartum Training

Having been through two pregnancies, I get it. During this time you’re never quite sure what you should or shouldn’t be doing. You could spend hours of your life scrolling through 5478.5 contradictory articles, or you could work with a certified trainer who understands what’s happening from both a physical and emotional perspective. NASM, PROnatal (Levels I & II), and AFAA Perinatal Certified, I like to think of myself as your fitness-minded mom friend, who is there to support you through a unique and amazing time in your life, every step of the way.

prenatal Training

I believe strength training is the number one thing you can do for your body during pregnancy. As your body redistributes weight, developing specific muscles is crucial to support your body for baby and you. We work on core-breathing, engaging the pelvic floor, squatting, hinging, pushing, pulling, and more, to provide support for bone growth and to prepare your body for the incoming demands of motherhood. We work the full facility of your body so when your hormones fluctuate, making you feel more flexible than usual, you don’t injure yourself. We could list a variety of reasons why it’s crucial to stay in a healthy fitness mindset during pregnancy (studies show it could shorten your time in labor)…or we could just chat.

postpartum Training

How do you maintain your posture while you’re nursing? How do you take care of yourself when you’re exhausted from sleepless nights? What happens when you have to bend down to pick up a bottle while holding a diaper bag and a baby?

So you’ve had a baby and you’re trying to go about life like it’s all normal again and you will see your abs in a few months. Spoiler alert: not true. Your body has undergone a huge transformation and it will never be the same. And that’s amazing. I work with you to navigate this world as a new mom physically, mentally, and emotionally to help you heal and honor this new body that brought a HUMAN into this world. (Wow we’re awesome.) We set realistic expectations while challenging you and holding you accountable to achieve your new fitness goals.
